Sponsorship Profile: Campbell Cycling.

8 09 2011

Campbell Cycling is a young team founded in the spring of 2010. In the beginning, it was just two guys who loved to mountain bike and needed more people to compete against than each other. So a scheme to create a collegiate cycling team began. Now we compete in both road and mountain bike seasons in the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Cycling Conference against the likes of UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, WVU, Virginia Tech, and Appalachian State just to name a few. In just over a year we have grown to eight members and continue to gain more interest every day.

This past fall we attended our first collegiate race at the collegiate cycling power house otherwise known as Lees Mcrae College. We walked away with a 7th place finish in cross country and 3rd place in dual slalom, not bad for a couple of guys who had no idea what was going on. We went on to compete in three more races gaining experience and collecting several more top ten finishes leading to a 4th overall finish in Division 2. We are currently in the midst of the ACCC road season and have already recorded a couple top ten finishes and can see improvement every week.

We are very excited about next year, when we hope to put all the knowledge and experience we gained this past year to really take it to the next level. We plan to host both a mountain and road race and promote Campbell Cycling. We hope this will put us on a level to compete for conference titles every year.

There is no doubt however that this team would have never got off the ground without the support of folks like Genuine Innovations. We rely on the Genuine Innovations floor pump to get our tires to just the right pressure and then hope to never need their other products. We really enjoy representing Genuine Innovations in the collegiate cycling community and hope to continue our relationship as our team continues to grow.
